PiP's beautifully executed extension located on Grantchester Road, Cambridge, provides a wonderful contemporary addition to this family home. The scale and massing of the extension was carefully considered in order to remain consistent with the existing street scene and striking angular protrusions and dormer windows on the upper levels frame excellent views over the nearby Bolton's Pit Lake. An elegant use of red pigmented zinc, white render, and clay tiles help the proposal to effortlessly merge with the existing building and neighboring properties whilst maintaining a clear distinction between the new and the old.
