Project Information:

PiP were approached to design a rear extension and annex conversion for a family home located in Great Shelford, Cambridge.

The rear extension will transform the kitchen/ living space into a light and open space, boasting an architecturally exquisite roof structure within the extension. Natural daylight will pass through the latticed beam roof, illuminating the space with dappled light. This project proves structural elements can become pieces of interior design, however big or small a project is.

The massing of the extension was carefully considered to respect the character of the building. The large windows connect the living areas with the garden and the annex has now been fully utilised for use by the whole family.
