Project Information:
Situated to the south of Babraham Road within Magog Court Business Park, the 2-story derelict farmhouse building presented as an opportunity for PiP to transform into a new genre of office conversions, allowing the creation of a new model of office design.
The building has been designed to retain the original scale of the building, taking on cues from the surrounding buildings material palettes. By utilizing materials such as black weatherboarding relating to traditional barns, grey zinc cladding and windows, this creates an agricultural style building when viewed from the public highway, drawing inspiration from neighbouring barns whilst also preserving the character of the area.
Internally, the layout is formed of a series of open plan office spaces, each with its own individual character. Large windows have been placed on key elevations of the building such as the multiple entrances porches and breakout spaces that maximises the views of the countryside, demonstrating appreciation of the nature of the site as an agricultural site.
